Adult ADHD. It would of course be better if the NHS didn’t have to outsource. It would also be better in person. However given that it is a remote service that has a lot of IT automation, it was about as good as it could be. Great staff, sensibly done. Much much better than expected.

I cannot explain how truly brilliant Faisal Shaikh is. So thorough, so understanding and puts no pressure on you to answer anything you’re struggling with. Once Faisal had reached his diagnosis, the words after meant everything to me. He is so comforting, so warming and so understanding. Before choosing a psychiatrist best for me, I googled a lot of the names that I could choose from. Faisal Shaikh is on a mission to tackle loneliness and has been studying adult ASD and ADHD for longer than I’ve been alive. He is absolutely incredible at what he does, and I truly hope he continuously gets the recognition that he deserves. I owe him so much for what he has done for me today. I have waited almost all of my life to be heard, and Faisal heard me. I couldn’t be more thankful. Recommend to anyone and everyone - what an amazing man.

The past few months have been completely eye opening for me and my ADHD diagnosis and the team at Psychiatry-UK have been brilliant. They've made me confident with the different stages I went through from assessment to titration. They've been great at navigating medication shortages and were totally open and transparent about my options as well as keeping on top of my progress throughout. A huge thank you for the help throughout this, the whole treatment process, and learning more about ADHD in general has made such a positive impact on my day to day life, my relationship, my work life & goals and much more. It's also helped me deal with a lot of my previous work, life and school experiences in the past with a new outlook on some of the issues and challenges I've faced. Can't thank the team enough!

The service provided was excellent. While services to diagnose ADHD are overwhelmed I was communicated with during the process clearly. My wait time time between diagnose and titration commencing for medication was as expected and much quicker than my local NHS service for the same thing. The ability to use Psychiatry-UK under NHS right to choose has seen my care sorted quickly and efficiently.

The process of obtaining my diagnosis was easy, once I had been accepted for assessment, i was seen within 7 months of my referral being opened. My psychiatrist was to the point and asked additional questions following my answers to gain a more in-depth view of my presentation. Following the diagnosis, she was quick to write the report and send me reasonable adjustment letters for both university and work. My prescriber Ryan was absolutely fantastic, he was happy to employ flexibility to amend the care along with my needs / wishes. He was really responsive when I contacted him and was very empathetic and understanding of my responses on the forms which were due to family issues. In our last titration appointment, he was incredibly friendly & approachable and was able to answer all of my questions with professionalism, high expertise and care. I would recommend PUK to anyone wishing to go down this path. Thanks Ryan!

I honestly can't find a single fault with PUK!. Dr Chandra Basavaraj and my titration nurse Lorraine Forsythe were the most professional and kindest people to support me in getting the help I needed with medication and support. Nothing was too much trouble, they were kind and empathetic and always on hand if I needed questions answered or support with my diagnosis and medication. PUK and their staff have always been fantastic and I couldn't recommend them enough! Thank you so much!!!

Although i think on a whole in terms of the service it was brilliant i waited a year from my referral and ive now been diagnosed and on the waitlist for medication, it was my doctor that let the service down for me it was Harneet Hundal and i felt like she was quite rude in the appointment and didnt treat me with care and compassion i know this is her job but to us we have been struggling and waiting for years, it was very rushed and i wasnt allowed to speak, she spoke down to me alot in a spaced out tone asif i was a child and when i was explaining things i got raised eyebrows, frowns and tuts asif i was being judged for what was said and it really left me feeling angry and upset by this again these assessments are a big thing and although she did say appointments were over running so she was trying to get it done as fast as possible she could have still applied compassion and understanding to my appointment so for that reason although im happy that its over and i have my diagnosis i feel like she needs some self reflection on the way she comes across to patients

I was able to access PUK via right to choose and the waitlist to diagnosis was much better (around 5-6 months at the time, compared to a minimum of 3 years in my county wih the NHS). I was surprised how easily i was diagnosed with ADHD (combined type) in one session with my psychiatrist, but after discussing with peers I found i wasn't as great at masking as i thought! The titration wait was about 6 months for me. The first treatment did not work so well in terms of side effects and symptom management, then the stock issues affected the drug i was prescribed anyway so we chose to change to another type which is working a little better at managing my symptoms. The prescriber i was assigned was great at explaining the mechanisms of how the drugs interact & ways of reducing side effects. I still struggle with my symptoms, but i am much less overwhelmed and more focused day to day so things are more manageable.

Absolutely superb care. I had a fantastic first appointment with Priscilla Kent who was able to really understand how my condition has affected me throughout my childhood and into my adult life. I couldn't believe how quickly everything was handled, and in a matter of a few short months, I'm on a treatment plan that is effective. I feel like a new person!
